Box Gutters and Parapets on Strata Buildings
Box gutters sit inside the roof line, so when they block or rust, water overflows into the building rather than outside.
We clear and repair box gutters, check outlets and overflows, and repair parapet flashings that have pulled away from the wall.
Corrosion Repairs for Coastal Roofs
Salt air holds moisture against metal, so screws, flashings, valley irons and metal sheets rust faster near the water. Corrosion often starts at fixings and cut edges long before the rest of the roof shows wear.
We replace corroded fixings and flashings early, before rust spreads into the sheets or valleys start to leak. For coastal homes, we suggest an inspection at least once a year.
Ridge Capping Rebedding and Repointing
Ridge caps sit on a bed of mortar and are sealed with pointing. Over time, sun and movement crack the pointing, and on older roofs the bedding underneath breaks down too. That's when ridge caps loosen and water gets in along the ridges and hips.
Where only the top layer has failed, we repoint with flexible pointing that moves with the roof. Where the bedding has crumbled, we lift the caps, rebed them and repoint. Either way, the caps end up secure and sealed.
