Ridge Capping Rebedding and Repointing
Ridge caps sit on a bed of mortar and are sealed with pointing. Over time, sun and movement crack the pointing, and on older roofs the bedding underneath breaks down too. That's when ridge caps loosen and water gets in along the ridges and hips.
Where only the top layer has failed, we repoint with flexible pointing that moves with the roof. Where the bedding has crumbled, we lift the caps, rebed them and repoint. Either way, the caps end up secure and sealed.
What to Do When Your Roof Starts Leaking
Move belongings away from the drip, catch the water in a bucket and, if water is near light fittings, switch off that circuit. Don't climb onto a wet roof yourself.
Then call us. We prioritise active leaks, make the area safe and find the real cause, which is often a cracked tile, failed pointing, a blocked or rusted valley, or a lifted flashing some distance from the stain.
Roof Repairs for Landlords and Strata
Rental properties and strata buildings need repairs done quickly, with clear paperwork. We can arrange access with tenants, and we provide written quotes and photos of completed work for owners and property managers.
On strata buildings, we also look after box gutters, parapet flashings and shared roof areas, and give committees a written scope they can approve before work starts.
