Signs Your Roof Is Ready for Restoration
Fading or patchy colour, lichen across large areas, tiles that stay dark long after rain and cracked pointing on most ridges all mean the surface has worn out.
At that stage, repairing one spot at a time costs more over the years than restoring the whole roof once. If the tiles and battens are still sound, restoration is usually the best-value option.
Blocked Valleys and Overflowing Water
When leaves and debris build up in a valley, water spreads sideways under the tiles instead of running into the gutter. This is one of the most common causes of leaks we see.
We clear the valley, check the valley iron for rust and holes, and reseal the tile edges so water flows freely again.
Why Roofs Leak in Heavy Rain
Many roofs only leak in heavy or wind-driven rain. Valleys overflow when they can't carry the volume, wind pushes water under loose ridge caps, and water that normally runs off finds gaps around flashings and vents.
Because these leaks come and go, they're easy to ignore. Fixing the cause early stops water damaging ceilings, insulation and timbers.
